What is the difference between a dehumidifier and an air purifier?

dehumidifier draws moisture out of the air, an air purifier traps harmful pollutants in the air such as bacteria, dust, pollen, dander and mold spores.

How much space does an air purifier cover?

Air purifiers are designed to fit a variety of spaces, from large to small. Make sure you look at the square meters of the room it will be primarily used in. The details of the coverage size are in all of our product descriptions.

Where should I put my air purifier?

Most air purifiers are designed to clean only one room, so it’s best to place an air purifier in the room you spend most of your time. This is often considered to be the bedroom, but you might prefer to put it in the living area, or in the children’s play area. Wherever you want clean air, we can provide it – you can even get purifiers for your vehicles.

What does CADR stand for?

CADR stands for Clean Air Delivery Rate, which is the volume of air clean by the purifier per hour. The higher the CADR number, the faster the unit filters air.

How much maintenance is required for the air filters?

The first filter change should occur 6 months after first acquiring your purifier, and every subsequent change need only occur every 12 months, or when your purifier replacement filter indicator tells you to. The initial change is as a result of cleaning out the initial pollutants that are sitting around in your home.

What does CFM stand for?

CFM stands for cubic feet per minute.

To find your ideal CFM, calculate the total volume of your space (length x width x height in cubic feet) and divide this number by your desired ACH. Below is a sample equation:

CFM  =

18 ft x 24 ft x 8 ft
5 (air exchanges)
CFM = 3456
5
CFM = 691.2

What happens if the air filters are not changed when the indicator light comes on?

With dirty air filters your air purifier may not be cleaning thoroughly, resulting in poor air quality and increased risk for respiratory illness symptoms. To ensure that your air purifier is functioning at its best change the filters when indicated.

How do photocatalytic air purifiers work?

In a nutshell, ultraviolet light shines onto a catalyst, which converts water in the air into a form that turns molecules of pollution into harmless substances instead. For people who suffer from asthma and allergies, light-powered air purifiers are another weapon in the fight for cleaner air and better health.

How do I know if my air purifier is providing me with the promised benefits?

Within a few days you will notice a difference in the purity of your room – it will no longer feel heavy. You will experience fewer symptoms of allergy and be able to breathe with less difficulty. For visual proof just take out your filter to view the filth that has been removed from your air.

What is a micron?

Short for micrometer, a micron is one millionth of a meter. Microns are used to measure airborne particle sizes. Because particles are so small we cannot see them, but they are still there, and while we can’t see the difference an air purifier makes, we can certainly feel it.

Are air purifiers loud?

The noise of an air purifier is dependent on fan level at which you are purifying. The most noise will be produced on the highest setting of any purifier, but even at that rate the noise is minimal. Keep in mind, however, that noise is subjective, so noise that some may tolerate may not be tolerated by others.
All of the models also possess a night mode which functions at a lower fan rate to minimise noise at bed time.

How long should I run my air purifier?

We recommend that for the best results you should run your purifier continuously. They are designed to be run non-stop. If noise is a factor, you can choose to run the purifier at higher rates while you’re out of the home, then turn the fan down to a quieter level when you return.
When the air purifier is turned off, air pollution returns to its pre-treatment state.

What happens when I turn my purifier off?

When the air purifier is turned off, air pollution returns to its pre-treatment state.

Can I open my windows while the air purifier is running?

Yes it is perfectly acceptable to mix fresh air in while the purifier is running. It is actually the indoor air that is more pollutant than the outdoor air (in New Zealand).

How easy is it to mount your air purifier?

Depending on the type of wall it should not take more than 30 minutes from the point of unpacking the purifier to plugging it in after fully securing it to the wall.
Tools required: Philips screw driver and cordless drill for concrete or gib board to put in a gib screw (which is supplied).

What does a Cold Catalyst Filter do?

Cold catalyst filters absorb and decompose organic compounds (such as formaldehyde) in the air and tiny floating dust particles.  They also help in the removal of other harmful gases such as Benzene, ammonia and TVOC.
